Navajo Fry Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cup AP flour
  • 1/2t salt
  • 2t baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

Sift dry ingredients together (flour, salt, bp). Stir in wet ingredients.

Knead the dough with your hands. Pat or roll into circles approximately 5" in diameter. With fingers, make a small hole in the center. Fry in 2-3" of hot oil at 400deg. Dough will puff and bubble. Turn when golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with honey or as a taco wrap.
